STRATEGIC PRIORITY

INVEST IN TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Rowlett is well-connected to local and regional transportation networks and provides high quality and sustainable roadways and utility systems.

NO TAX RATE INCREASE

On May 4, 2024, residents of Rowlett are asked to go to the polls to consider authorizing the issuance of bonds in the amount of $51.35 million for four bond propositions. Each of these projects were carefully considered and proposed by the citizen-led Council-appointed Community Investment Program Task Force, and the City Council voted to place these propositions on the ballot for citizens’ consideration.

Traffic Signals

  • $4.1M – Replace the traffic control systems monitoring and managing major intersections.

  • $0.9M – Traffic Signal installation at the intersection of Liberty Grove and PGBT

Road Construction

  • $7.45M - Merritt Road Interconnector, Toler Business Park Phase 2, and Country Aire Estates Phase 2.

  • $7.3M -  Liberty Grove Road widening and improvements beginning at Broadmoor Ln and to the east.

Chiesa Road Design

  • $2.0M - Design Chiesa Road from Miller Road to Lakeview Parkway reconstruction of existing 2-lane asphalt roadway to 4-lane divided concrete roadway. Includes utilities,  sidewalks, street lighting, and landscaping. ​

Concrete panel replacement, asphalt road repair, street and alley reconstruction projects.

  • $13.25M - Projects to be selected by staff and approved by the City Council based on Pavement Condition Index (PCI) rating and visual evaluations, utility needs, geographic grouping, and estimated cost.
